Playgrounds
There are hundreds of playgrounds here mapped on Google maps, click on one of the 8 areas below and a Google page will load up with the map and playgrounds. You can click on the blue marker to find out what ameneties are at the park (basketball court, restrooms, etc.), but each park does have a playground. You can also use Google to find directions from your house to the park, check the blue marker however, some are only approximate locations. Please note, there are LOTS of parks, so google might take a bit of time to load... but trust me it's worth it. The Northeast and east sections are still under construction.
Five Star Playgrounds - Worth the trip even if you don't live close.
Doylestown Kids Castle Park - Kids' Castle is an eight story wooden playground apparatus. It was designed and named by children of Doylestown Township through an art contest in 1996 . It's really an amazing place, but it can get crowded with bigger kids in the summer, so you might want to visit during off peak hours. Here is a link to the Doylestown Township Parks and recreation page to find out how to get there.
Mandarach Playground -This playground in Limerick is on Ziegler Rd. off
Swamp Rd. and located in the Limerick Community Park. This playground is completely enclosed with only one entrance. It has a huge slide in the middle which separates the park into play equipment for older kids on one side and for younger kids on the other side. It has lots of different activities to keep your child entertained for hours. There is a shaded pavillion, a snack shop, and a restroom. All of the facilities were very clean. Franklin Square - this play space at 6th & Race Streets in Philadelphia is home to a great shady playground, the Philadelphia Park Liberty Bell Carousel (at a fee), a mini golf course (at a fee) and Stephen Starr's SquareBurger resta
urant. The mini golf course features Philadelphia landmarks and SquareBurger is a great place to grab a family friendly meal and check out their "shake of the month." You could also take a quiet break by the vintage fountain or the Living Flame Memorial. There are two playgrounds, the first is designed for ages 2-5, has a group seesaw, a sliding board, bridge, playhouse, monkey bars, fireman’s pole, and several levels of climbing fun. Swings include a handicapped-accessible swing, toddler bucket swings, as well as traditional swings. The second playground, designed for ages 5-12, is a fun, bright, colorful design with climbing and spinning elements. They hold lots of seasonal activities for the kids at Franklin Square year-round, including PumpkinFest in the Fall and Easter Egg hunts in the Spring.
