Spring has sprung and homes are ready for that splash of floral color. Whether you are a gardening enthusiast or someone who simply enjoys being outdoors and creating your own secret garden, celebrate the emergence of spring with Linvilla Orchards at the annual Plant and Flower Festival on Saturday, April 28th.

Riverbend is excited to once again be a part of the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Science Festival, April 20-29, an innovative initiative to celebrate the region's strengths in science and technology. Launched to critical acclaim last year - and attended by more than 120,000 visitors - the city-wide Festival will again feature an extensive line-up of mostly-free programs and exhibitions designed to inspire the next generation of scientists and spark discussion. It kicks off with a public outdoor carnival on the Parkway (look for our interactive tent!) and continues with dozens or more events at institutions like ours and in each city neighborhood.

Enjoy the great outdoors and feel the thrill of reeling in the big one at Linvilla Orchards annual Family Fun Fishing Derby. Take the family for a relaxing morning sitting on the banks of Orchard Lake, but you better be ready when your bobber submerges under water and you have a winning fish on your line!

Spring is in the air, and there is no better way to celebrate the end of a long winter than a visit to Linvilla Orchards Bunnyland.  Hop aboard a hayride through the woods to visit the Easter Bunny house in Bunnyland. There will be story telling, lots of treats, and an opportunity to snap a photo with your host. After your hayride, enjoy a pony ride, get your face painted and visit the fluffy chicks and woolly lambs.

On Saturday, March 31, 2012, Smith Kids Play Place will host their exclusive Playground Opening Celebration! There will be face painting, sack races, water balloon tosses, egg and spoon relays, water ice and treats, prizes, rides down the giant slide and fun on the playground! Festivities will be from 10AM to 1PM.
 

If you are looking for something a little different than an ordinary egg hunt, this is the list for you!  Decorate eggs with the environment in mind, go for a helicopter ride or visit the Easter Fun Fair.  Check out these local events this spring.
