This year’s fifth anniversary Flag Festival spans nearly a full week and promises entertainment for all ages and tastes, from circus performers flying through the air to puppet shows and patriotic music.

June kicks off a spectacular summer of science at the Delaware Children’s Museum, where events and hands-on programs this month focus on the physics of transportation and racing, and mega-project engineering and construction.

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,500 museums across America. First launched in the summer of 2010, Blue Star Museums offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day, May 28, through Labor Day, September 3, 2012. From April 20 - 29, Philadelphia's schools, universities, cultural institutions, and research centers unite as one to put science in the spotlight. Scientists and engineers throughout the city offer fun, interactive programs for Philadelphians of all ages.

Join the Academy of Natural Sciences for their annual Paleopalooza festival, a fossil-filled extravaganza that’s fun for the whole family! Talk one-on-one with paleontologists about their work, watch as they work on the bones of a massive titanosaur, and join Buddy the T. rex and Dr. Scott Sampson from the PBS hit series Dinosaur Train.

Visitors to the National Constitution Center during the month of February will have the opportunity to honor the contributions that African Americans have made throughout history during the National Constitution Center’s African American History Month Celebration.  Guests visiting the Center throughout the month can participate in a variety of interactive programs that celebrate the lives of iconic figures including Frederick Douglass, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks and President Barack Obama, whose vision, courage and sacrifice made real the principles our country was founded upon.  In addition, the Center’s main exhibition, The Story of We the People, illuminates the trials and triumphs of African Americans throughout history.
