Since its signing on September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution remains an enduring, relevant document that inspires the world.  As headquarters of the Constitution’s landmark 225th anniversary, the National Constitution Center will conclude its lineup of celebratory events in September with a star-studded Liberty Medal ceremony and an array of festivities that honor the Constitution’s legacy of freedom.

How many times do I tell my kids “Don’t touch”?  Well, at The Please Touch Children’s Museum, it is the exact opposite! The Please Touch Museum is the perfect place to let your children do all those things that, under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t be allowed.

Celebrate America's Birthday!

This Fourth of July, don’t just celebrate the birth of independence – celebrate in the birthplace of independence!  The National Constitution Center on Independence Mall will commemorate America’s birthday with an unforgettable lineup of patriotic events and programs that are the perfect complement to the excitement of Philadelphia’s Wawa Welcome America! festival.  Visitors will enjoy Revolutionary War re-enactments, learn colonial-era tasks, join in “Patriotic Karaoke,” and more.  The Center’s Independence Day celebration will take place from Thursday, June 28 through Thursday, July 5, 2012.  The Center will extend its regular hours of operation on Monday, July 2; Tuesday, July 3; and Thursday, July 5 from 9:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.  All Independence Day activities are FREE with regular museum admission.

Flag Fest 2012

Celebrate Flag Day in the birthplace of Old Glory with a week of festivities at the Betsy Ross House this June.  Flag Festival 2012  kicks-off the start of National Flag Week on Sunday, June 10 with a patriotic ceremony and flag retirement and continues right through Stars & Stripes Saturday on June 16, a daylong event that harkens back to the first Flag Day celebrations held at the House in the 1890s.  The fifth annual event will pay tribute to our national standard, and continue the tradition of Flag Day celebrations that began here more than 100 years ago, and resumed with the first modern Flag Festival in 2008.

Visit the World’s Largest LEGO Lemonade Stand

LEGO® Friends and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) host a 2-day collaborative build of the world’s largest lemonade stand made entirely of LEGO® bricks with the goal of making the 2012 National Lemonade Days (June 8-10) the biggest in its history. 2012 will mark the 9th Annual National Lemonade Days. The Lemonade Stand will be completed in time to serve lemonade on Saturday. Additional building activities will take place during the weekend. The event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged.
