Independence Seaport Museum is hosting the 3rd annual Seaport Parade of Lights on the Delaware River Saturday, December 15. The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. with carolers performing holiday favorites and Santa greeting visitors with candy canes. Visitors can enjoy complimentary refreshments (while supplies last) while taking in a special holiday exhibit inside the Museum. All activities are included with Museum admission.
The parade kicks off at 5:00 pm, led by Jupiter, a vintage 1902 tug maintained by the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild. Museum visitors will get the best view of the parade from the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the Delaware River. There will be awards for best decorated commercial and pleasure boats.
This year, the Seaport Museum is partnering with Liberty USO to collect gift cards for their Liberty Claus program. Visitors who bring a gift card to the Seaport Museum between Friday, November 23 and Saturday, December 15 to donate to the Liberty Claus program can enter to win a free Family Membership to the Museum. The gift cards will be presented to the Liberty USO at the Seaport Parade of Lights on December 15.
