About Playground Buzz

Welcome to PlaygroundBuzz.com! This website was founded in 2007 as “NorristownMom.com” by a mother who, like many of us, struggled to find new and exciting activities to do with her children. Her goal was to develop an easy-to-use guide for moms and dads to find local entertainment, classes and activities for their kids.

As the mother of two children myself and an avid follower of NorristownMom.com, I was excited when I was given the opportunity to take over the website in 2009. The colors may be different and the name has been changed, but the objective still remains the same - to provide parents with a valuable guide for planning fun family events.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Delaware County, I have been a resident of Montgomery County for over 12 years. I spent many years in the corporate travel industry and am now so happy to be providing local parents with a broad range of things to see and do right here in the Philadelphia area. Since becoming a mom in 2004, I have had the chance to re-experience my hometown through the eyes of my children and love sharing ideas about destinations, events and kid-friendly attractions.

I hope you find PlaygroundBuzz.com to be an indispensable resource with such features as the event calendar of fun local happenings, interesting classes, indoor sports and play areas, playgrounds, outdoor activities and nature. There is also a section devoted to free activities in the area and an extensive list of kids’ consignment sales during the spring and fall sale seasons.

My goal is to continue making PlaygroundBuzz a great resource for everyone. In order to accomplish this, I need (and welcome) everyone’s feedback. So if you have any comments or suggestions on how to improve the site, please let me know.
